RE: What to do about banking while on the road?

Set your WiFi with security and make sure your connection to the the bank is secure as well - the address should be https:, not http.

RE: Fair Price on 2009 DP??

It will be less than retail, more than the lowest figures you'll get in response on the forum, and less than the dealer wants to get!

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Not to change the subject, but...I'm sad this morning. One of our beautiful 'Smoke' cats has a cancerous tumour in his nose. I'll be meeting with the oncologist Monday but it doesn't seem real good. He would require radiation and chemo and I don't think I'd want to put him through that.
Indulge me - We've had Sam for 9 years, along with his brother Shadow. We got them as 12 week old kitties, and they are a most unusual coloring - black when you look at them normally, but the remainder of the hair shaft is gray, which is called smoke. They are not only beautiful but they are the sweetest cats ever. Not a bad habit between them. We'll be hoping for the best and making more decisions after Monday.

RE: Our first 4000 miles in the 2001 Dynasty

Bill:
Re: latches. These were upgraded on my Diplomat compared to my Knight. In short, the ones on the Knight sound like the ones you have and they are lousy! I had one break ten minutes after I replaced it!
Re: Smell: Make sure there's water in the P-trap of the shower as well as the toilet. Again, in the Knight I had this problem and the smell was gray water from the dried-out p-trap in the shower. A bucket of water before you set off should do the trick.
Good luck and enjoy!

RE: I need an oven

It's probably a lot easier to replace your microwave with a microwave/convection combo. While I'm not experienced with the convection side cooking, many folks say it is as good or even better for all types of oven cooking, including roasting and baking.

RE: Monaco Diplomat gets hot

If it's an '05 and an ISL it should be a 400, not a 350, unless it was detuned for some reason; if it is a 350 it may be in reality an ISC.
As mentioned the recall was for a connecting rod issue and didn't involve either heat or for that matter, '05 models. There is another recall for a fuel line placement issue that also doesn't involve heat.
I vote for the radiator, maybe a plugged hose somewhere along the line?

Lee, that contraption actually looks pretty reasonable, compared to a teardrop trailer, etc. And talk about maneuverability!

Butch, I sure know how you feel. I've been out of work since early May and its very tough. We've been selling some stuff on E-Bay and at least Bonnie's working and getting benefits. Hopefully something will come along soon (for both of us!).

RE: Making appointment for work to be done on my coach

Bend used to be a Monaco factory site but they closed down Bend, along with the Beaver manufacturing facility there, a couple years ago. As stated, the Bend facility is now Monaco Authorized, not owned.

RE: 35' RV +toad over hwy 29 from Calistoga

Last year I took my 40 footer with a minivan in tow over 29. I survived but it was a white knuckle ride. I wouldn't do it voluntarily but at least I could do it. I went on 128(???) in OR heading to Ashland and that was quite an event too.

RE: Mid CA 5th Bi- Annual Fall Rally - Oct. 10 & 11th 2008

I helped a good friend buy a lovely used car to replace her 13 year old Infiniti. She got a light blue 2006 Infiniti G35 with only 16000 miles on it, Certified pre-owned, from Frontier Infiniti for a great price. It sure is fun helping someone spend their money, and I love car shopping!

It's not where you took delivery. It's where your residents is and where you registered it.
Not with the CA rules.

RE: Mid CA 5th Bi- Annual Fall Rally - Oct. 10 & 11th 2008

Terry, I just saw a poll that McCain is ahead of Obama. Apparently the collective memory of a big portion of the population of the US is no longer than about 2 weeks!
Happy late anniversary, Newton and Rose! (Wherever you are!)
Lee, after a few years in the Real Estate related biz I have learned several things:
1) Hindsight is 20/20
2) If you gotta sell, you gotta sell
3) The time is NEVER better than right now
4) The bottom of the buy market is always 3 months after you bought, and,
5) The top of the sell market is always 3 months after you sold. (Or 3 years, or 3 decades)
6) Finally, don't beat yourself up about how what is happening now looks compared to how it did when you acted. When you acted you did the right thing for those circumstances.
That always helped me (and some of my clients) feel better!
P.S. I don't think I could be President either, and I don't even remember why!

RE: Replace Pacbrake

I've had similar experiences as Diplomat Don. I've been all through the Sierras and the Siskiyous in Oregon and the Pac Brake in my coach will hold a steady speed even on 6% grades. I use the vehicle brakes at the start of the grade to set my speed, and maybe once or twice on the downhill to reset the speed, even on long grades. I've found also that at low speeds some familiarity with the performance of the system will get me excellent results in slowing at interesections and lights.

4 years, no problems. I'd call Coleman and see if they might step up to the plate and replace it for you.

I bought one of these when we got our new fiver. I definitely consider it to be cheap insurance!

RE: Are you ready for solar powered cold air?

The next generation Toyota Prius is expected to have a solar panel option that will run the air conditioning.
Just the fan to help keep the interior near ambient. There isn't enough room for panels to get enough power to crank up the A/C.
That's what the Audis had a few years ago as an option. This set-up has been specifically stated in multiple sources as being to power the A/C. Either way, it helps keep the temp down.
